David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) has decided to fight fire with fire in Coronation Street tonight as, in the wake of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) being encouraged by Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) to use his brain injury to his advantage in court, David decides to bring him down a peg or two.
Despite the pleas from Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) to reconsider his actions, David went to see Imran Habeed (Charlie de Melo) and revealed that Nick was the one who deliberately sabotaged the factory roof and caused the death of Rana (Bhavna Limbachia).
As Imran hits the roof and vows that Nick will pay for this, Nick could be looking at a much tougher sentence if Davids claims are believed. Of course, fans know that Gary Windass (Mikey North) was the real culprit – and has since killed again – but it seems that David and Nick will stoop to any lows to ensure that the other brother goes down.
Their day in court arrives at the end of the week but there could be hope ahead of their final sentencing at trial as Nick eventually decides that he will do the right thing and accept the full blame for the theft of Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) money. In response to this, David will withdraw his claim to Imran that Ranas death was Nicks fault.
