David Walliams books have become a pretty staple part of the Christmas schedule on BBC One – and another is now making its way on to screens.
This time around its The Midnight Gang which is getting the TV treatment, bringing Walliams 2016 best-seller to life with a cast of familiar faces.
The Midnight Gang tells the story of Tom, a posh boarding schoolboy who ends up in a grim hospital after being hit on the head by a cricket ball.
However, his stay in the hospital takes on new meaning when he becomes friends with the titular gang, and goes on a string of adventures with them in the dead of night.
So what time is it on tonight?
Well, The Midnight Gang kicks off on BBC One at 7.30pm and lasts for an hour and a half – ahead of the new Agatha Christie three-parter The ABC Murders at 9pm.
The show stars young actor Oliver Zetterstrom – who was recently seen on the big screen in The Little Stranger – as Tom, while you might also recognise the likes of Alan Davies as the hospital porter and Hadyn Gwynne as the fearsome hospital matron whos none too keen on children.
Meanwhile David Walliams – who also penned the script for the adaptation – also shows up in the cast as Toms wicked headmaster.
He gave fans a sneak peek at his costume when filming began back in September.
Other cast members include Upstart Crows Jocelyn Jee Esien and Friday Night Dinner star Mark Heap.
