New Arsenal head coach Unai Emery appears to be pushing his players to the limits during the opening week of pre-season training and nobody is feeling the strain more than star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international was among a clutch of regular first team players who returned to the north Londons Colney base last week having not been involved at the World Cup and has been put through his paces by Arsene Wengers successor.
Aubameyang was filmed last week breaking an Arsenal record in a one-legged tripple jump test but is looks as though he is finding other elements of Emerys regime a little tougher to handle judging by his latest tweet.
Pictured resting on his haunches and propped up by youngster Eddie Nketiah, he wrote: Damn bro help me !!! Im dead.
Arsenals social media channels have been awash with videos and images of the players collapsing to the turf having been worked to the bone by their new boss and his assistant Juan Carlos Carcedo.
Reports last week claimed that despite his insistence on his players being as fit as possible, Emery had concentrated more on ball work and small-sided games during the opening week of pre-season than his predecessor, but also attempted to stamp his authority on the squad he inherited by banning the use of mobile phones at meal times and insisting the first team eats alongside the youth squads.
Emery takes charge of his first match at the helm as an Arsenal XI travel to Borehamwood on Saturday.
The main players for Saturday are the young players and the players who have been working with us, said the Spaniard.
Then the other players who finished in the World Cup, they are coming for the next weeks and will go into their work with the players who are here.
The first match for us to look at the performance by the players who are here.
