You know it’s Christmas when the festive food programmes start on television – and none more so that Nigella Lawson‘s BBC special Nigella’s Christmas Table.
But people couldn’t really concentrate on the delicious food she was making, because they were so distracted by its high salt content.
Yes, for Christmas this year Nigella’s giving everyone high blood pressure.
Not even Nigella’s penchant for hyperbole when it comes to describing food could make viewers ignore how much salt she was adding to her recipes.
People barely even noticed when she referred to some treacle sauce as having ‘such a sombre majesty’ because they still couldn’t get over how much sodium Nigella was about to bequeath unto her guests.
Blue Planet special next week, just how does #nigella manage to extract all of the salt in the ocean to accompany 1 meal?

Jeeeeesus Nigella! STOP with the salt! Does she still have kidneys?? #nigella

Salted caramel sauce people can get on board with, Nigella, (although ‘starting’ with a teaspoon of the stuff still seems excessive), but no one wants to eat braised red cabbage that has ‘a heavy snowfall of salt,’ surely?
And how much is in those devilled eggs? It’s hurting our kidneys just looking at it.
Here’s hoping Nigella’s as generous with the water as she is with the salt.
