Sir Elton John appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday to talk about his new greatest hits compilation, his children and more.

But no one expected to hear him reveal the nature of a present that was bought for him by none other than close friend and rapper, Eminem.

The I’m Still Standing songwriter was appearing on the long-running BBC One chat show before talk turned to rapper Eminem, who Elton has remained firm friends with since they performed a duet of Stan at the 2001 Grammy Awards.

At the time, Eminem, who has a new album out titled Revival, was being held to task over so-called ‘homophobic lyrics’ and was picketed by The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) outside the Staples centre, where that year’s ceremony was taking place.

Elton revealed to Graham that, five years into their friendship in 2006, Eminem gifted the pop legend a pair of diamond-encrusted sex toys in celebration of Elton’s civil partnership to David Furnish.

‘He was accused of being homophobic by so many people because of his lyrics, which I thought was nonsense. I came out and supported the fact that he isn’t [homophobic] and I appeared on the Grammys with him, doing “Stan,”‘ revealed the music icon.

‘We became friends. We’ve been amazing friends ever since. He’s an amazing guy. I interviewed him last week for a magazine.

‘I just adore him… When David [Furnish] and I did our civil partnership, I got this package from Eminem. It shows you how homophobic he isn’t! It had two diamond-encrusted cock rings on velvet cushions.

‘I have to say, they have remained unused!’

However, a recent Eminem performance took a bashing with Saturday Night Live viewers panning a medley set from Detroit rapper.

The 45-year-old rapper performed a medley of old hits on the weekly comedy show, mixing it in with new hit Walk On Water, which features Beyonce.

He combined the new tune with the likes of past hits such as Stan and Love The Way You Lie, with backup vocals from singer Skylar Grey, 31.

Nevermind, Slim – we all have our bad days.
