Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were forced to interrupt Good Morning Britain’s weather report after a light smashed to pieces in the studio.

As presenter Alex Beresford went through his usual segment on the weather, he was left mouth agape after a light fitting randomly smashed off-camera.

After an almighty smash, Susanna Reid can be heard saying: ‘Oh my days.’

Piers said: ‘Well that certainly livened up the morning weather report. One of the lights just got smashed to pieces.’

With Susanna remarking how a camera operator looks noticeably ‘sheepish’ over the incident, Piers joked: ‘He knows he’s lost job. I liked him too, it’ll be a shame to lose him.

‘They’re quite annoying lights to be honest with you. I think you’ve slightly improved the look actually.’

A smashing improvement, an annoying person could say.
