The Great British Bake Off’s newly crowned champion Sophie Faldo is already hatching plans for a cookbook – after she’s travelled the world that is.
The 33-year-old former Army officer fought off competition from fellow bakers Steven Carter-Bailey and Kate Lyon to take the series title on Tuesday night.
And she’s wasted no time in hinting at her post-Bake Off plans, saying that a book could well be on the cards.
‘I never ever dreamed I would get to the final, let alone winning, so I am not sure where I will go from here,’ she explained.
‘It would be wonderful to write a patisserie book but let’s see what comes my way. I would like to try travelling the world for inspiration for starters.’
Of course we got a hint of her travel plans on Tuesday night’s show – which told us that she and Steven have become best baking friends – and are planning to go on holiday together.
